Oggi per la sezione magia e rituali, voglio presentarvi il lungo e bellissimo testo utilizzato nel rituale del Drawing down the Moon ovvero far scendere la luna e scritto da Doreen Valiente.
Questo rituale avviene all’Esbat quando la sacerdotessa riceve il dono del potere dalla Dea:
– L’incarico della Dea
Ascoltate le parole della Grande Madre;
lei che anticamente era chiamata fra gli uomini
Artemide, Astarte, Atena, Dione, Melusine, Afrodite, Cerridwen, Dana, Arianrhod, Iside, Bride e con molti altri nomi ancora.“ Quando avrete bisogno di qualcosa, una volta al mese, e meglio se quando la luna è piena,
allora voi vi riunirete in qualche luogo segreto e adorerete lo spirito di me che sono la Regina di tutte le streghe.
Allora vi riunirete voi che desiderate imparare tutte le arti della stregoneria,
e tuttavia non avete ancora raggiunto i suoi segreti più profondi;
a voi io insegnerò cose che sono ancora sconosciute.
E voi sarete liberi dalla schiavitù;
e come segno che siete realmente liberi, sarete nudi nei vostri riti;
e danzerete, canterete, banchetterete, suonerete musica e farete l’amore, tutto in mia lode.
Perché mia è l’estasi dello spirito, e mia altresì è la gioia sulla terra;
perché la mia legge è amore verso tutti gli esseri.
Mantenete puro il vostro più alto ideale; tendete sempre verso esso; che nulla vi fermi o vi faccia deviare.
Perché mia è la porta segreta che si apre sulla Terra dell’Eterna Giovinezza,
e mia è la coppa del vino della vita, e il Calderone di Cerridwen, che è il Santo Graal dell’immortalità.

e oltre la morte, io dono la pace, la libertà e la riunione con coloro che sono dipartiti.
